Some people deserve it, RB. Lunar certainly doesn't, but you definitely do.

And why is that? I never personally attack anyone.

What does it matter if you "don't personally attack anyone"? Stop with this bullsh**t style-over-substance fallacy. I absolutely love bludgeoning idiots with reason, but I'm also right nine-tenths of the time, which roughly correlates to how frequently you aren't.

Well, I certainly don't deserve to be personally attacked, if I treat everyone else with respect and civility. I might be wrong on something. So what? Everyone is wrong. That doesn't mean I should be personally attacked.

To get back (somewhat) on subject: take Glenn Beck. Why does he have an audience? Because he's crazy. And oh-so-goddamned-controversial. He, like Limbaugh before him, appeals strongly to a certain type of inhibited conservative, who wear their Judeo-Christian "values" like a straightjacket and could therefore never articulate their hatred half as well as a right-wing shock jock. It's the same awe a primitive aborigine feels when he sees a mushroom cloud on an island in the distance.

That's what I do, in reverse, and more extreme than either of them: I sh**t on a crucifix and shove it down the collective throat of religious tyranny. But I'm much more witty and provocative than either of these morons - it's easy to attack a minority (which is why they're a minority), but Christianity? Reaganism? The Republican Party? These targets are a little too big for most people to paint a target on.

Well, both are hyper-partisans that distort your news information, one does it in a far more lunatic  way than the other, but the other, she has her flaws too

Lunar, you are a clever guy.
What you are doing now reminds me of the media's atempt to impose an artificial ''balance'' during last fall's campaign.

''Yes, McCain accuses Obama of being a naive, radical, terrorist sympathizer, socialist who hates the troops, will surrender to Al Qaeda and Ahmedinejad, and wants to teach sex-ed at kindergarteners. But Obama said that McCain will tax your health care benefits so they are both equally guilty''.

Yeah, I have to agree with you.

I love ya Lunar, you know that, but you're being a little ridiculous. You don't always have to try and act "fair."

Oh, I called Glenn Beck a plecostomus early in the thread, implying that he's a bottom-feeder in both the world and cable news, but the Democratic talking heads on MSNBC's lineup also heavily screws the news and avoid intelligent discourse for people to ideologically pat themselves on the back.  Beck cries on-air and is far more ridiculous, he was probably one of those psychotic people in the McCain/Palin rally audiences yelling "off with his head!"

Do most of these news people not wear proper suit pants on air? I noticed Beck was also wearing jeans...

Actually an awful lot of people wear jeans when it is inappropriate to do so.  (personally I don't much like dungarees).  It always seemed odd to me that anyone would prefer jeans to the comfort of slacks, and of course jeans with a blazer really look poor.

However I see nothing wrong with wearing Converse with an ironic second hand suit.

On a fashion point and comfort point I am with you that khakis/slacks are more comfortable than jeans.  Jeans are too heavy and don't "breath" . I always love to see and hear dungarees also. My old man says that- I never knew what the hell he was talking about when I was a kid.

On topic, Glenn Beck is an idiot. Hannity, Rush, O'Reilly and Savage to boot are all windbags.  It is embarrassing to me that the party I used to identify with has these jokers as standard bearers.

A man of good taste.  Yes, I do use jeans only when it is very cold out.. and even then I prefer coyderoys if they are available.

I think that black or very dark navy jeans that are relatively slim fitting are fine, but otherwise I agree with you guys.

It just struck me as very odd that he would be wearing a blazer with jeans and converse sneakers. I guess I've been living in Washington, DC too long; my casual Texan sensibilities have been overwhelmed. Sad

Didn't notice this until now.

The funniest part of the interview is that he tries to convince us that Ellison won in a, what 80% white district because the Somalian immigrants voted for him.

That is absolutely hysterical considering the vast majority of Somali immigrants are not even eligible to vote.

Since both "options" portray him negatively, you are not really asking for an "opinion".

BUMP

Since Glenn was kind enough to call the President a racist and someone who hates white people I thought it would be appropriate to bump this.......he's a total dickhead.

Well, the President certainly has racist friends, so saying he is one is not that much of a stretch.

We all have friends with racist tendencies, so what.

Yeah, I can see how he hates whitey considering his white mother and white grandparents who raised him. Roll Eyes
