Not really a surprising decision but it will be interesting to see the interplay on March 31st.  Afghanistan is one of the few areas where U.S. and Iranian interests are closely aligned.

I'm sure the Iranians will have a lot to say regarding Afghanistan...Shiites believe the reappearance of the 12th Imam will happen when the world has fallen into chaos. Shiites believe the chaos will start in Afghanistan and then move into Iraq.
