It's very annoying, but all you need to do is use a proxy site. Great Firewall is great in name only.

The most irritating thing is the arbitrariness of it all. One day the New York Times is blocked, government doesn't explain why. 2 weeks later it's back up, a few months later Youtube is blocked, then blogger seems to work for a few days, then it's blocked again. I'd give the CCP's media management skills. an F-.

Oh believe me, I've said much worse things about the Chinese government on AIM Smiley

Most of the sites blocked are only the Chinese-language versions anyway. I figure that they realize anyone who could read the English version of Wikipedia could probably use a proxy anyway, so why bother with them? It's the uneducated masses who can't get ideas about Western democracy in their heads....

Hah not many get worse than Saudi Arabia. The worst part about it is that it they are so accepted around the world. I mean even Iran under the Ayatollah is better than the Saudi regime. China is nowhere as bad as them.

Yeah, killing regular old religious freaks, subversives and corrupt business men is understandable, even if we in the West know it's wrong.  Stoning women for getting raped is a whole 'nother level of funked up.

(and yet many otherwise sane people would rather see Israel wiped off the map than either)
