Honestly, I think McAuliffe wins this. Basically nobody likes him except WalterMitty and Beet. Even Bush still has a few supporters among the die-hard GOP hacks.

i honestly don't know why so many people on this site hate terry Mcauliffe so much, what exactly did he do other then be a huge hillary hack, that has caused him to be so unpopular.

Look at his term as DNC chairman and the success of the party. Then see what happened after Dean ousted his worthless ass.

he had already lost Iowa by a lot after he was a lock to win there and everywhere.  how do you think he could have rebounded from the third place finish in IA?  do you think the scream accounted for all of Kerry's 14% margin in NH?

     Though people do anyway, since the scream really just highlighted how screwed he was. Because of that, people mistake it for the reason that he was screwed.

Dean never intended to be elected president in the first place.  when he declared Gore was a lock for the Democratic nomination.  when he became the frontrunner he cracked because he wasn't cut out for that kind of spotlight (and he knew as much).  there are some parallels with Huckabee08.

BRTD's exactly right.  The results of the caucus (which almost everyone thought he'd do very well in, if not win handily) were a shocking blow that showed that the Dean movement was a lot less substantive than all appearances had shown.  The scream was just the moment they ran with to explain this to the people who can't handle more advanced concepts.  Dean didn't collapse because of the scream, Dean screamed because he collapsed.
