This state is probably the most different from Serbia by all possible criteria: geographic, population, demographic, cultural and religious. Why did you choose it?
I would say that Tennessee would be the closest fit.

Well, at least some have a bigger proportion of the population than Utah.

Let's see, a very strong tradition with a certain religion but little actual adherence to it, despite that much bigotry toward those who don't follow it, a pariah largely mocked by the rest of Europe, largely urban in one part with the rest being distinctly rural, formerly prosperous but now fading and many minorities with a strong tradition of racism.

No question, Massachusetts.
