By population density... Maryland. (Which, come to think of it, has protestant and catholic rural areas. And geologically quite distinct plains and uplands areas in a way reminding of Germany, although the same goes anywhere south of it as well. It's also the only place in the US to have had both catholic and protestand immigration during the time when it really meant something. So yeah, I'm feeling ever more content with my pick. -_- )
