I'm sure it's been done, but what the hell, I'm doing it again.

Discuss... with maps, if you'd like.

I hate this one cause they're both great guys.

I'll go with the home team - Phil.

Taking PA in a General? Not happening. It wouldn't be the generic Republican vs. Democrat race here. Plenty of union types that make up the backbone of victories in PA would not turn out or would actually probably support me (on social issues at least). I don't mean this as a jab but Fezzy is the exact opposite of a lot of people here. Same with Iowa probably. And Michigan. And probably Wisconsin.

Fezzy is moderately liberal and you are a standard movement conservative.

He's the type of libertarian that would scare the hell out of the types of populist Dems that you need in states like PA, MI and WI while I have the standard Republicans locked up.

Fezzy is a moderate liberal not an actual small l libertarian.
More specifically, a latte liberal: well-off, socially liberal, and economically moderate (at most). To be honest, Fezzy should just change parties already because he has essentially nothing in common with the Republicans. Phil might as well be competing against Howard Dean here.

Keystone Phil, the only good option.

Keystone Phil: Blue
fezzyfestoon: Red

And even that is too modest, I think.

It seems as though Fezzy's religion, well lack thereof, and personal views toward him are preventing a relatively objective view on the hypothetical race.  (well as objective as we can be on these things anyway.)

Who else with similar ideological views to Fezzy would be a better matchup here...I'm not saying I would, as we'd probably have as big if not bigger bickering as to who'd win PA and by how much exactly...

What about Nixonin1980...he seems like a good "opponent" for Phil, and doesn't have the type of negatives that would make forum members too biased against him.

I like Phil and especially admire his grasp of Penna. politics.  But Fez is closer to my political views.  Phil is just too far right for my taste, though I am sure he would govern effectively and with the best of intentions.

doesn't matter.  'atheist' is a buzzword that would doom any candidacy.

You two don't like me?!  And I thought I had such good friends. Cry

Really, I don't see how Phil could lose in a completely open race.  Though hopefully someday someone like me could be a viable candidate.

I thought that this was already known (in my case at least).  Roll Eyes

It seems to me, that the reason why MasterJedi and I "don't like" you is that we are both socially conservative (he more so than myself, which is interesting to me), while you are very liberal socially (or at least that is how it seems to me).

I do agree with you sometimes, though.

In my case, part of the reason why I quoted MasterJedi lies in some of your posts, such as these.

I'd vote for Phil unless Fezzy supported universal health care and admitted that global warming is real.

Phil/Phil

As much as Phil and I disagree on everything, it's still better than voting for Fezzy. Dude just doesn't sit well with me for one reason or another.
