This is one of the least talked about ethnicities in America, but there a lot of powerful people who are Indians (Native Americans) and most of them live in Oklahoma.

Indeed, Native Americans are a demographic that is becoming more and more of a minority, making it less and less likely every year for them to become Senators or Governors

It's hard enough for an Oklahoman to become president!

Being from Oklahoma is an automatic disqualification.

Kind of ironic that Asian-Indians have an almost infinitely higher chance of being elected president some day than Native American-Indians.

Asian Indians (the ones with the dot rather than the feather) are amazing overacheivers b/c you have to be to leave the subcontinent and come to America. We don't let just anybody into the US anymore. Few other people in America have had this hurdle.

And their share of the population is increasing.  But yeah, there are probably thousands of times more Indians in business and law schools than Native Americans (despite strong affirmative action and scholarships for Native Americans).

Rod Blagojevich is in trouble partially for negotiating with multiple Indian power brokers in Chicago, actually.

Roll Eyes

Unless there is a major demographic shift in which Native Americans compromise more than 5% of the US population I don't see how we will ever have a Native American president.

Has Coolidge's Native American heritage been disproven?

Many "Latinos" are Native American, so maybe it will happen one day.  But the concept of race will probably become meaningless at some point in the future.

Is the Native American population even growing faster than it is being diluted?  I think asymptotically the odds of a Native American becoming president approaches 0 while an Asian-Indian becoming president approaches 1

Personally, I think the fact that an Asian Indian is a bajillion times more likely to become president than a Native American in the long run ironically hilarious

The claim that Calvin Coolidge was part Native American is about as substantiated as the claims that Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Jackson, or Warren Harding were part Black or the claim that George W Bush is an extraterrestrial lizard.

Considering most of our "Hispanics" don't have 100% blood ties linking them to Castille, it's almost definite that we'll have a president with indigenous blood.  It's just likely that it will be Mayan rather than Plains blood.

Jefferson's claim is closest to being true, because while he wasn't black, he did have children with blacks.
And Bush did resemble an animal, but a bit higher in the evolutinary chain...

Yeah from raping a 14 year old slave who was only 1/4th black because both her mother and grandmother were being raped by their white masters.
