Mitt Romney vs Barack Obama in 2012

With

The economy sinking faster than it was in 2008

The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan still raging out of control

Obama's stimulus package has plunged the nation into uncontrollable debt

Romney puts forth his record of sound economic and fiscal management and his abilities to take a seemingly hopeless situation and turn it around into success, contrasting it with Obama's failure to deliver over four years in power

Nixon vs. McGovern looks a lot like that map, except for Rhode Island

I'd say........

Are you kidding?  I know that John Kerry certainly had flaws as a candidate, but he was less than 150,000 votes away from becoming the first candidate to ever defeat a sitting war time President.  There may be some scenario where he loses that badly (although it's hard to think of one off the top of my head), but to say that he would lose that badly in any year other than 2008 is laughable.
