Candidate for "least surprising news of the year", perhaps. Thought I might as well stick a thread up anyway because, meh.

Of course the blame game now begins. Brown has said he didn't predict it, Darling has asked us to 'bear with them' while things get sorted out. They've basically called it a 'world problem'...wait that was Norman Lamont. And he was right, and so too is the government when it says the same about the current recession (though the fact our recession will be longer and deeper is down to government policy and subsequent action/inaction)

But Labour had 'fun' with the last recession and milked it's legacy for years and often completely out of context. Don't blame the Tories if we do the same.

As for 'bearing with' the government the answer is simple; 'No'
