Not sure what you mean.

"Predicting" people's futures is an art form. It's not really in the cards (or chicken bones or whatever. Tea leaves), it's in the interpretation - and thus, of course, in reading the person before you. Tarot cards obviously do not in themselves have an ability to predict future events.

Or were you thinking of the rather elaborate mythology surrounding the development of the deck? In this case I agree; much of it is bunk. Still nice cards though. I own a deck. There actually are card games in existence that use them, btw, although I've never played any of them.
