Over the weekend I was spending a lot the weekend with my best friend Ty. We went up to his cabin about an hour and a half away. We went skiing, snowmobiling and just hung out. It was a bunch of fun.

Anyway, Ty is gay (closeted though - he's only told me and and a couple of his other friends.) I held the same confidence in him. On Saturday evening I ended up telling him I was Bisexual. He's the first and only person I've told to date, in person. He was totally O.K. with it but surprised, I guess he'd never had the thought cross his mind I might be anything but straight.

This weekend was one of the best in my life. I feel like a big weight has been lifted off my shoulders... at least somewhat. Also, if you have read the "Keystone Phil vs. MSUfan" thread, you'll see that my sexual interaction isn't 100% female anymore. The 10% happened this weekend. O.K., that was probably unnecessary but I'm just so happy...

Sorry for cluttering the thread with more attention whoring but... yeah, you know.

This is great news! It's good you have your best friend to talk about things with. I know my best friend and I love to talk about Miley Cyrus, and it's never weird or anything either.

Congrats on a first step!  My younger brother came out to me last weekend, making me the first family member he told. I already knew but I still tried to make him feel good about it.

Good for you MSU! I had no idea you were Bi! I thought I was the only bi guy here (besides AKsaber.) Hopefully, now you will have more confidence to come to everyone else you know.

For some reason like half my friends here at MSU are LGBT (in fact, at least one of each, though one double-counts for G and T Tongue), and they seem to be finding plenty of resources if they need any.  Each group of residence halls has its own LGBT group, but you can go to any you want Smiley

Really? We don't even have a LGBT group on campus.

Congrats.. that definitely took some guts.

I imagine it's pretty hard to tell anybody, even somebody you know will be totally accepting and even honored to know, something that you've kept as such a secret for so long.

I don't think we do either, actually.

Wow.. my university was only 3800 students and we had a sizable group... it must be because I'm up here in 'liberal' Minnesota
