http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/12/03/berlusconi_g8_internet/

"The G8 has as its task the regulation of financial markets ... I think the next G8 can bring to the table a proposal for a regulation of the internet."

Che un pazzo...

LOL

Just another attempt to get his name in the news (note how he didn't say how he planned to regulate it). I love this guy.

I'm still not sure whether or not that's a greater shock than the Pope being Catholic.

Silvio's latest move once again makes me hate him more. Oh how I long for the lesser of two evils, Romano Prodi to be the current Prime Minister of Italy. Then we would wouldn't be discussing such fascistic proposals at the present.

The UN had a proposal of a similar nature a few years ago. Predictably, it went nowhere.

He presented specifics? How likely is he to actually follow through on this?

Berlusconi's great; just as Bush is on the way out, he comes back to make sure that there's always some clowning around done at these big summits.

He'll probably present some ridicolous proposal at the G8/G20.The fact that it's ridicolous doesn't mean he won't actually present it and be serious about it.

I just think this is one of those moments where he wanted to say something controversial, get some coverage and move on.  Wink

We'll see though. Either way, what a guy!
