Question: When will the NRSC's bad luck end?
#1
When Chuck Schumer removes the hex he put on them back in 2006

#2
When Elizabeth "loser" Dole finally moves her baggage out of the Chairman's office

#3
Once (likely) incoming DSCC chair Bob Menendez himself is indicted

#4
After Bush leaves office and Obama falters as POTUS

#5
Never. The GOP is doomed to fall below 40 seat irrespective of what the NRSC does in 2010.

My monosyllabic response is "ouch." Who's left in the NV GOP bench? Can they convince Heller to give up his seat, or will Porter seek revenge against his nemesis, Senator Reid?

From everything I seem to read, supposedly Heller's going to challenge Gibbons in the primary for Governor.  We'll see, though...

The GOP needs someone to challenge Reid. BTW, my political intuition tells me that Reid is, in fact, behind this possible indictment. He pulls the strings in the NV Democratic Party and the AG is one of his political acolytes, someone who owes a debt of gratitude to Reid's political machine. I doubt that Reid was unaware of the efforts to disqualify his main possible rival....

Seems logical to me.  Wouldn't be the first time this type of thing has happened in Nevada politics.

Looks like we'll have Senator Reid for another 6 years.  Sigh.

Reid has a political machine? Seriously? He's never struck me as the "competent leader of an organization" type.

His son Rory is a political powerhouse in Clark County, which is basically Sen. Reid's political fiefdom. The casino interests gladly fund Reid's candidates in exchange for access to the Senator. Everything in NV Democratic politics flows through Reid. When Dina Titus was gearing up for a 2010 run against Gibbons, Reid convinced her to instead run against Jon Porter, whose suburban base would've made him the best challenger to Reid.

Could Krolicki have leaked the story about him running against Reid so that when the indictment occurred it'd look politically motivated?

Or is that too far-fetched even for Nevada?
