A few weeks ago, people were talking about a leadership contest.

Now the Tories have just lost their deposit in Glenrothes.

Congrats on recovering from hopeless to abysmal and winning on a reduced majority in the PM's (literally) back yard. Smiley

Seriously though, huge win for Labour, more interesting to see what happens in the months to come.

Isn't it just amazing! Labour won a victory in a safe seat and now only trails the Tories in the polls by 13 points !!!

The Tories lost their deposit in Glenrothes! In a two party race! Just like Labour in Henley!!!!!

Oh wait.

If Labour are extatic then I for one am pleased. I enjoy such complacency Smiley

It's not complacency, it's more that there's not been much to cheer about as far as domestic politics is concerned this past year (while the possibility of a civil war wasn't totally implausible just a few weeks ago) and now there is, even if it's not the most important thing in the world. And the idea that the government might get re-elected, while unlikely, isn't a total joke now.

I can understand that, however the euphoria (particularly within the LabourHome 'glasshouse' - ready to throw rocks but unwilling to acknowlege that their own house needs repair) seems a little forced.

On the flip side, I can take comfort in the fact that after a solid month of favourable and almost total coverage of the PM post conference season and the Tories finding it difficult to say or do anything meaningful on the economy (such are the limitations of opposition) and the water of a ducks back that was the Osborne 'Affair' we still hold a double digit lead. Labour could not have asked for a better month and yet it also seems, neither could we.
