WTF???  Chris Christie has just released a statement in support of the confirmation of Sodomizer.  This is disgraceful and I am seriously considering changing my support to Daggett

You mean you're suprised?

Christie is just a latter-day version of Clifford Case.

He's a liberal.

He is on record for his support of illegal aliens.

That's not being a liberal...

Its difficult to get clear answers to other matters from Christie.

He is also on record as favoring government taking over and running businesses (he did it).

It may be a good pick politically, but it stinks when you boil it down to this: When the governor dies, do you want him to be replaced by the sheriff of Monmouth County?

I don't personally know how prominent she is in Monmouth County (will people recognize her name on the ballot?), but Christie has his electoral strategy right if anyone in Monmouth knows who she is.

Corzine (D): 38%
Daggett (I): 5%

(official numbers will be released later)

A new web ad put out (not sure if done by Corzine or some interest group) labels Christie a "Conservative Right Wing Republican" with a big (R) next to Christie's name and face in the ad.

Hilariously redundant and totally expected.

And, hopefully, effective in New Jersey. This kind of thing needs to be on TV, though.

This kind of thing HAS been on TV. It's about the only thing Corzine's campaign has been pushing in the last five months.

It's been terribly ineffective because:
(1) There's no real damning connection between Christie and Bush.
(2) Christie isn't campaigning on hot button conservative issues.
(3) Corzine's favorables keep sliding, not unlike Bob Torricelli. When you greatly dislike the messenger, you're simply not inclined to buy into the message.

Looks like the Corzine pick for LG will be the relatively uncontroversial State Senator Barbara Buono (D-Middlesex). The official announce will come on Saturday.

Italian\Italian ticket vs. Dutch\Italian ticket

I know which side I'm rooting on.  Wink

Yeah, hum.

Thankfully, she doesn't seem to be hurting Christie.

Christie's mother is Italian, his father is Irish.  He's all Catholic, if that matters.

Massive arrests in corruption cases today. The headliners seem to be largely Democrats but they have a Republican assemblyman.

44 people arrested, Democrats and Republicans.  A little more central to the governor's race:

Doria has resigned.  Corzine held a press conference to distance himself from the probe.
