I would seriously consider voting for Obama if we had a GOP congress.  I want to say positive, but neutral is probably better.

As Torie said, Equipoise.

Obvious.

I want to see BRTD's response though now that we know Obama is, in fact, a hater of Suburbia.

Positive, but not amazingly so. He's wavered on several things that upsets me a bit, but I generally like the guy (a great life story) and I think he's at least somewhat sincere about what he believes in.

For a politician, anyway.

I've always had a positive reaction to him.

I supported Hillary in the primaries, I did have concerns about his experience, and because I never really got that much of a chance to see too deeply into him and what makes him tick.

Over the past few months, I've read his book (which showed me he and I are on the same page on a LOT of things) and seen him grow into role.

He's smart, he's curious and he's shown the capacity to LISTEN, plus he's clearly got the ability to assemble a great team around him.

Experience matters to a degree, but neither of these men has been president before. It reminds me of something Kennedy told MacNamara when he was hesitant about taking on Defence (since he didn't have much experience) he said "Bob, there's no school for presidents either".

I think Obama has the temperament and natural talents to make the job his own.

Very positive.

Neutral.

Whilst I have been supporting the Junior Senator from Illinois in his quest to become 44th President of the United States since December 2007, and believe that he would serve the office with efficiency, I simply have my doubts about whether an Obama presidency would bring about real change. A message he has frequently been campaigning on since he announced his candidacy in February 2007.

Although I believe that an Obama presidency would help regain the American public's confidence in their leadership, especially their executive leadership (one major reason why I am supporting Senator Obama), I can forsee an Obama presidency doing nothing more, a part from that particular change (that's if you classify that as change) that would significantly change Washington, DC inside out. Though some, in particular some on this forum would beg to differ my point of view.

As I have said time and time again, by the time the 2010 Congressional Elections come around, Obama would have ditched his liberal persona and opted for a more moderate approach. Thus reverting back to the persona of a status quo moderate.

Negative

I don't want to say Very Negative because he seems to be a good guy that really cares but he's made enough stupid decisions and has enough positions on the issues that make me dislike him. I'll say that I find him far less annoying than his fanatical base.

I helped form a local Draft Obama committee back in August 2006 and have never wavered in my support since; I guess I got in on the ground floor of this operation.  I just hope I'm not putting too much faith in him or overestimating the significance of the presidency to daily life in the United States.  Although it certainly will be quite a relief to know that our national leader is, for the first time since 11:59 a.m. on January 20, 1993, a person I can trust.

You like McGovern more than that pathetic excuse of a candidate, Minnesota's own, Walter Mondale?

I like both RFK and McCarthy more than Humphrey. McGovern stood for bigger and greater things.

Hurrah! Finally you and I agree on something, though I am sure there are other things that we also agree on. I'm quite fond of George Stanley McGovern myself. Hunter S. Thompson helped convice me to embrace McGovern, yet he also helped be grow a profound distaste of Hubert Humphrey. For somewhat reason it reminds me of a caption under a HHH picture in Thompson's Fear and Loathing: On the Campaign Trail '72 stating "I was a jew once myself".

Unrequested-Handjob-Stripper 2016?

She'll actually be constitutionally eligible only next year.

That reminds me, I should run a GOTV campaign for strippers this weekend.

Thanks!  Just one question - do you often get requested ones?

As for me I vote 'Freedom Fighter', since in the context of the depressing american political scene, Barak Obama is about as good as it gets.
