The survey of 500 likely Colorado voters was conducted Tuesday through Thursday by Public Opinion Strategies of Alexandria, Va., the largest Republican polling firm in the country. Obama's lead was well outside the poll's margin of error of plus or minus 4.38 percentage points.

Obama - 52
McCain - 40

FYI:

POS had Bush up 5 exactly 4 years ago in Mid-October, their last poll right before the Election had Bush winning CO by 9.

This is actually the only POS non-internal poll that I know of.  It's always done for the media outlet Rocky Mountain News.

I'm quietly suspecting that this poll might not be as insane as it looks, from what I know privately.

But whatever, it's obviously a bit of an exaggeration.

I´ve just read it's not entirelly a Republican poll. A Democratic pollster was commissioned to create the questions of the poll and POS conducted it for the Rocky Mountain News.

That's right.  It's not a Republican poll.  It is conducted by a firm that works for Republican candidates. (the McCain campaign too)

I think we may know why McCain is pursuing this Pennsylvania strategy now.

I'm sorry I signed papers that prevent me from saying stuff!

But Obama is not 12% ahead.   But it is my opinion that Obama is dominating in Colorado and McCain has no relative organization there.  I would give McCain a 1-4% chance of winning Colorado without a major event. I can't say any more, cheers. Smiley

I'm a strong advocate of McCain's Pennsylvanian strategy for a reason!

Because Obama has the same lead in PA?

Yeah, but PA is worth more if he actually wins. I'm not saying I agree with the strategy, I'm just trying to figure out why they are doing what they're doing.

MarkDel did that all the time and you defended him.

MarkDel prediction: The DeLay scandal would be immediately dismissed and DeLay would return to his position, yet the CIA leak would blow up big time. LOL.

Actually I took him at face value. I was always very cautious as to what he said.

Too bad he hasn't come back. Would be interesting to see what he has to say about the state of this race and what kind of proclamations he'd have about the dangers of an Obama presidency. Of course, he always hated McCain too, so hard to say what he really thinks about this one.

I don't remember the guy, but based on what you are saying I'd guess he'd say something like this...

"Damn McCain, if we had nominated an actual conservative, we'd be winning this thing big!''
