Kirk has done everything right. He's been an effective Congressman, raised an insane amount of money (over $4.5 million), has tended to his district's affairs, and he's aggressively challenged his opponent.  Despite all of that, he may be washed away by the political tide, one that is intensified by the presence of Obama at the top of the ticket.

I agree, and I think Kirk is a goner no matter what else happens.
