Politico:

McCain camp making news in the morning

On what, they won't say.

"We'll have something to talk about," is all a campaign aide would allow.

Check back again in this space or over on our front-page in the morning.

update:

Sure enough, it's Bill Ayers.

The McCain campaign is launching a web ad accusing Obama of trying to hide his ties to the 60s-era radical.

"Too risky for America," the ad concludes.

The idea here is to keep Ayers in the mix without spending precious dollars to put real points behind it on TV.   Republicans know that cable TV stations will play the spot for free, regardless of it being a web ad.

No, no. McCain is the Republican.

You know, it's pretty late, but I totally don't understand this retort.  Maybe I'll get it in the morning.

Socialism = state ownership of companies, something the Republicans are awfully fond of lately.

Is it that hard to go to Politico.com and click on the "News is coming" link on the front page?

Probably Obama being a member of some socialist party.

It wouldn't surprise me considering the right-wing blogs are starting to reference Obama's alleged membership in the Socialist New Party.

http://politicallydrunk.blogspot.com/2008/10/web-archives-confirm-barack-obama-was.html

I don't see much here, although his speaking at an NP victory celebration (if true) may come back to haunt him.... especially considering the Ayers "founding of his political career" narrative that some on the right-wing blogo-sphere are proposing.

Probably some new stunt he hopes will make him look better, but will reinforce the image of him being unstable and reckless.

Who wants to be announced to be part of the cabinet in a sinking ship?  Lieberman, Romney, Whitman?

It is one of four five things.
1 a new attack on Obama
2 a new proposal or plan (possibly re-worked version of mortgage plan)
3. a change in campaign strategy (add a state, subtract a state)
4. a challenge to Obama to change the third debate or add more debates
[UPDATE...one more per Lunar]
5. Major endorsement

But I would think that they would not want to be the ones announcing an attack. It is far better to leak that to a friendly media outlet for them to then be 'outraged' by later as in "did you read what it says in the xxxx Times about Obama and xxxxx"

I bet it is number 2.....some bold new plan to save the economy.
