Hilarity continues in NY-13, the clear winner in the contest for most f**cked up CD of the cycle.

Conservative Party nominee Paul Atanasio has withdrawn from the race in order to take a Judicial appointment (confirmation is all but assured). The Conservative Party is refusing to endorse Republican nominee Bob Straniere, which paves the way for replacement Conservative Party nominee... Vito Fossella! http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2008/09/14/2008-09-14_vito_fossella_wants_back_on_ballot.html

Oh, and Jim Wyne, who lost in the Republican primary, has decided to run as a write-in candidate Cheesy

The difference between the two is that McMahon can hold on to that seat for quite a while because he's the classic moderate-to-conservative Democrat that's good for this area.

I was referring more to the craziness of the whole ordeal, but you're correct.

Fossella ought to be handcuffed to Foley, wherever he is.

I would LOVE to see some polling on this race.  It's bound to be an ugly, three-way mess.
