If that didn't score with Middle America, I don't know what will.

Did we really need the floating head of Barack Obama from the Wizard of OZ?

By the way, Charlie Gibson, this is a national political convention. The kid comments were scripted.  Wink

Oh yeah, this speech is pretty good by the way...

not watching it presently.  but I do hope it's better than Teresa Heinz' speech in 2004.

Wasn't it already by default?

lol it's nearly impossible to be much worse...  the DNC had Teresa speak at like 11pm eastern IIRC because they knew it was asking for disaster

Chances are she was drunk by 7pm so they had to space it out a bit.

Hopefully, Mr. Tharin Gartrell doesn't see the outside world for a good, long time.  Maybe after Obama's second term ends?

Loved the Kennedy speech; he didn't seem to be slowed down at all, and it was exactly what I would have hoped for from Kennedy.

Michelle's speech was really good. It wasn't aimed at us guys, rather women. Which, to the best of my ability, think it hit home. That's what they care about....

After all of those hours, just 2 good speeches, and none of them really talked about the issues or distinguished between McCain in any way. In fact, very little substance.

Bomb.

FYI, first day of convention is mostly filler.

My wife really liked Michelle's speech, and she is one of the PUMA Democrats so many of you have been talking about. Not that this will change her from voting for Mckinney, but I agree with your assessment of the target audience, and how this might have a broader impact.

Hopefully not! I believe she voted for Clinton in '92 and '96 and Nader in 2000 and '04.... most likely Democratic during the '80s.

Sad Chris Wallace didn't top his "Don't Cry for me Argentina" comment after Michelle Obama

And good thing the Democrats aren't making this about race, when they pan the crowd I feel like I'm watching Showtime at the Apollo
