I suppose le guillotine is the quickest and most painless...IF the thing is properly maintained.  You'd better hope to be first in line and not the last guy at the end of a long day.

I used to believe lethal injection was painless, but the more I hear and read, it's pretty long and gruesome. 

Could I just be allowed to drink myself to death with 18 year old single malt scotch?
