I voted "Democratic party" although I am officially a member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor party... so I am not a Democrat, but a DFLer.

Republican for purposes of getting elected and having elected officials with somewhat similar views.  I hate both parties on a national level big time

I identify myself as a Democrat -I will switch if and only if the GOP finally nominates a credible fiscally conservative candidate (i.e. places a greater priority on balancing the budget and cutting the federal debt at least in half over cutting taxes ad infinitum) who wins in the general election.  Since this is unlikely to ever happen, it is also correspondingly unlikely that I will ever switch parties, however dissatisfied I am with the direction my party is taking -at least on the national level.

So Ron Paul would cause you to switch to the GOP?

No -I don't identify with isolationists.  Also, I am open to raising taxes on the wealthy.
