Not a single member of my immediate family has contributed to Obama's campaign. My grandmother gave $100 to Hillary (a lot for a fixed income FL retiree) and she still has a Hillary sign prominently displayed in her condo's main window.

My mother has given quite a bit of money... I don't think I myself have though. I like to confine my political donations to Congressional and Senatorial candidates that I like.

I gave most of my post tax income to Obama. I know that I'll receive it all back seven fold, after the savior's election.

I know quite a few who have given to Obama, but I'm not related to them. Which box should I check?

AYE!  I've never understood this aspect of American politics.  Hillary is still trying to get somebody to pay off the debt she made during her run.  How the hell does that makes sense to anybody?  Aren't they worth hundreds of millions of dollars?  And they want poor Democrats to pay back the loan she got stroking her own ego?  Amazing the balls on these people....and the pure idiocy of the people sending them $200 who then turn around and bitch about the large rich/poor divide and how high gas prices are and how much the war costs.

I'd never give money to any of these parties. I'd only give money to the GPO or Canadian Greenies, since they're not millionaires.

My family only donates to the local GOP as they see it as the only meaningful elections.  I gave a couple bucks to Ron Paul

I donated to Chris Dodd's campaign.  I know, I know...tilting at windmills.

I will donate to Obama's campaign in the fall, as well as to the campaigns of Jill Long Thompson and Mike Montagano.

My wife asked if she could donate money to the Obama campaign.

I told her she could only if she got a job!

The way it should be.

Anyway, yes for family members, though its a under $100 amount and therefore need not be reported.  I wouldn't be surprised if other family members donated small amounts to McCain, but this is mere supposition, and I have no facts to back it up.

As for me - zero, as always.

I gave $32.90 to Larry Kissell because he lost in 2006 by 329 votes.  He's running in one of the ten most economically devastated CDs in the US, which puts him at a fundraising disadvantage. That problem is compounded by the fact that he's a school teacher who doesn't know many rich folks.

My dad only contributes to state legislative races because he knows that the effect of his small contributions is magnified at the local level. When I was younger,  I  saved up allowances to give $50 to Erskine Bowles '02 Senate bid. He wrote back a personal thank you note. At the time, I didn't know that he was a self-funder candidate. Still, it's nice to have a letter from Bowles.

what.

The last thing I'll do with my accumulating birthday cash is give it to a politician. Not even to the Greenies. I have a hard time spending it as it is.
