McCain: 45%
Obama: 40%

The Chamber poll by Fabrizio McLaughlin and Associates was in the field July 20-28, 2008 and surveyed 1,600 registered voters statewide.

Hmmm...

Maybe Obama's ad blitz did work in closing the gap. I'll wait for a reputable poll, though.

Hispanics (16%): McCain 50%, Obama 50%
African-Americans (13%): Obama 95%, McCain 5%
Others (3%): Obama 60%, McCain 40%

Total: McCain 50.6%, Obama 49.4%

African-Americans (13%): Obama 95%, McCain 5%

I wonder if the phrase "think for yourself" even exists in that community?

I wonder if it exists among the southern white "community" too.

Well at 60/40 I'd say so.

That's Florida, bro. Check the numbers in MS, AL, TN, etc.

Which of the following does Minnesota have?

-Tons of annoying old people who are terrible drivers.
-One of the most terrible education systems in the country.
-An inability to properly handle elections.
-Frequent hurricanes.
-Constant heat and humidity.
-Hordes of stupid and annoying tourists.
-A collapsing economy due to the fact that the previous economic boom was based completely on an economic bubble.
-An absolutely insanely retarded beyond braindead and idiotic ban on 40s and mini-liquor bottles.
-Laws treating more than 25 grams of pot as a felony (actually I can answer that, 25 grams in Minnesota is treated about equivalent to a traffic ticket.)

Kerry got 42% of Florida whites while the losing the state by 5 points. If Obama keeps things close in Florida he should get around 43-44% of whites along with a 55-45 win among hispanics and near unanimous support from African Americans, thus giving him the state.

If Obama doesn't get Florida's EVs I'd prefer that McCain just landslide in Florida, because Florida is an AWFUL state. I could never imagine how awful it would be to live in that disgusting pile of sh!t.

lol

I would extend those sentiments to the entire south

Not all the south, Texas is a diverse state.  If all would be liberal people in Texas went out to vote it would be the next California.  But since people don't,  and really don't care about elections much less what is going on in government, the state is branded as a traditional southern state that goes GOP 99% of the time.

If Obama wasn't awash with cash he would have written off Florida quite some time ago. The demographics are awful for a young, black "change and hope" guy.

McCain seems to fare well with FL Hispanics, even non-Cuban Hispanics. He might notch a 55% win with them.

And for a foreign policy dove[ish].  Him meeting with enemies of Israel or Castro might not exactly be hip there either.

Which is why Cuban Hispanics have almost always supported Republicans whether it's Obama or not.  They feel Republicans take a harsher stance to the Cuban gov't.  I still feel not many democrats are united with Obama and he needs Hillary (who is more familiarized with Democrats) to solidify his standing in states like Florida.
