Its about time. It only took him 2 years Roll Eyes   His approval was at 13% or some ridiculous number in a poll a while back.

I hope Tpsy (sp?) Livizni succeeds him, although I usually support Labour in Knesset Elections. Kadima is much better than Likud. Anyone but Shas or Netanyahu. We could have 2 leaders named Bara(c)k if Labour does well in the next election.

About time. Let's see if we can get a less-bad option. From what I've heard, Tzipi Livni sounds fine.

My sympathies are with Israeli Labour, but I think that it is quite clear that Likud will be the main party in the next government, and that Kadima will lose quite a few seats.

Netanyahu claims for early elections.

Someone who well know the israeli politics to believe it could happen?

Its about time. It only took him 2 years Roll Eyes   His approval was at 13% or some ridiculous number in a poll a while back.

The number of competitors for Bush's approval ratings is climbing by the day. Olmert then, now Sarkozy. Jesus.

although I usually support Labour in Knesset Elections. Kadima is much better than Likud. Anyone but Shas or Netanyahu.

Anything is better than those two Forces of Darkness.

We could have 2 leaders named Bara(c)k if Labour does well in the next election.

Which they probably won't. But they'll probably be fighting Kadima for second.

It sounds that everybody see Tzipi Livni already PM. Keep cool, 2 months, that's a long time in Israel, lot of things can happen, like early elections about which the noise around it goes bigger, there is also Barak who could come in the race, and if Iran shows a more and more aggressive face, it could play for Mofaz.

Here's an exemple of why I asked before to someone who well know the israeli politics, at least better than me, thanks.

So, when Barak says that he doesn't exclude to be PM again, he would speak about general elections I guess...

Yes of course, he's leader of the Labour Party since last year.

Labour is Kadima's coalition partner and its leader gets the spot of Minister of Defense.

Aside from the Intifada, has Labour been doing poorly at the national level since 2003 because of demographic changes? If Orthodox families are averaging 6 or 8 kids each (I don't know the number) while secular Israelis are having less than 3, this could lead to a big long-term problem for Labour.

Or is it because of the large influx of Russian/Soviet Jews since 1991 who, for whatever reason, are hostile to Labour and vote for Shas or other far right parties?
