I actually thought up a scenario with a King of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Man, Cornwall, and Brittany.

A Celtic monarchy in France wouldn't be called "France".

Umm.. No. Really guys no.

Unless there neither any Germanic Migrations AND the Roman Republic never expands to reaches across Italy. And then I'm asuming separate kingdoms for each. (Note: Until the 9th(?) century Kingdom of Scotland none of those polities could ever said to be united. Celtic Society was not very unified even within tribal grouping. Something which would doom the Gaelic Chiefdoms of Ireland in the C16th when they came against the Tudors.)

Is Crusader Kings any good? I have Hearts of Iron and Europa Universalis, but never got around to buying Crusader Kings.

I love it, but I sense I am in a distinct, rather strange minority.  Some call the game "The Sims: Europe", which for me is a great compliment and for others evidently an insult Tongue

In general, though, if you like one Paradox game you can at least tolerate them all.  Even I do a bit of HoI... every once in a long while Undecided
