Now, I am sure that after Zell Miler's speech people in Tifton, GA and Biloxi, MS were more than elated to hear what he had to say, but if you are a republican who wants to attract undecided voters, did you really want an over the top speech like that to represent your party during prime time?

lol.....and tell me again, how many times did Democrats Bush bash on primetime...how many times did Actors try to represent the Democratic Party by Bush bashing?  Remember Whoopie and her gang?  I find it funny that the Democrats blame Republicans for bashing, when they are the worst at it during this election.

Zell is a man scorned by a party that has forgotten who it is and what its supposed to be.  Mention Henry Jackson or John Stennis to a Democrat and you get sneers, mention them to a Republican and you get a measure of respect.

The Democrats have lost their way and Zell told us how and why.

I'm glad he spoke.

He's from the Democratic party. That's what made it 100% acceptable and effective.

Luntz did his idiotic push button poll with people.  11 out of 17 were more likely to vote for Bush after the speeches.  You are seeing the speech through partisan eyes.  I think it will be affective toward undecideds.

Zell Miller was wild eyed, bitter, vitriolic...........just plain crazy. Even worse were his performances on the CNN recap and Hardball when he totally lost it and threatened to KILL Chris Matthews. This guy is a senile loon. The only thing missing from his speech was "Segregation now, Segregation tomorrow, Segregation forever!!!"

The Democratic Party is no longer conservative.

The Republican Party is no longer liberal.

As a Republican, I must say I was extremely disappointed with tonight's speeches.  Miller's attacks were dirty and dishonorable, and a reflected poorly on our party's convention.  If this is the sort of campaign Bush wants to run, I may have no choice but to vote for Kerry.

I totally agree. All the hatred of Sen. Kerry displayed by our party is revolting. Why can't our party get back to its roots and be the party of Bob LaFollette again? Or the party of Henry Wallace before he switched? It's a shame we drove out people like Henry Wallace, we need the old style liberal Republicans back.

You two are a perfect example of why I'm a Democrat.

Zell Miller was great. Why can't this party get over Karl Marx?

Miller's over 70 years old, and he's been a Democrat all his life. He's never voted for a Republican. He spoke at the '92 convention for Bill Clinton, and bashed Bush's father.

Regardless of how much some Democrats want him to go away, this guy fits his label.

He said himself that there is no single issue that he agrees with the Democrats on.  He obviously doesn't have any party loyalty, since he's speaking at the other party, so why does he stay on?  I say for all the attention he gets by being the leading Democrat for Bush.

I can answer that.  Remember hsi excellent line abotu family being more important than party?  His family has been democrat for hsi entire lifetime, and he is not about to change that.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Dixiecrats.

he also bashed Carter, who was president BEFORE he spoke at Clinton's convention. So therefore he did change, not this nonsense about the party leaving him.

Correct. He's against all the BS the Democrats are inventing.

The man has been a Democrat all his life. And he's sick of what it has become.

You don't think a Democrat can disapprove of Carter's policies?

Someone name me one issue McCain agrees with the GOP on. Other than actually fighting the mad men that want to kill you.
