Fellow citizens of the region of Pacifica, and of the nation of Atlasia, it appears that subject to certification, I have won a Senate seat for the Pacifica region. I am humbled and sobered with the trust which the voters of my region have placed in me. Thank all of you who supported me in this campaign, deemed Quixotic, but due to you, perhaps at some cost, the impossible dream became a reality. Thank you Alcon (a young man whom I deeply admire and am honored to have had his early support), EMD, CK (I know it must have been tough), and yes, Xahar. Xahar thank you for tolerating and supporting this  rather conservative old man, and all you did to assist the achieving of this,  the Quixotic Quest, the realization of that which seemed a bridge too far, much less one to be crossed, but we did it. Yes we did!

I wish my opponent Friz and his supporters all the best. Never once was any word of anger or disrespect from any of you, directed in my direction, even if such words from others were directed towards you, none of which I find comports with my sensibilities.

I ran for office for one reason, and one reason only. That reason was to enhance the experience of our Atlasian citizens in being citizens, and in the experience of governing themselves.  My goal in that endeavor, is to assist our President elect, Mr. Moderate, in becoming the most successful president of Atlasia in its history. I wish to work with him, in any way I can, in pursuing and enacting wise legislation, wise electoral reforms, wise systemic reforms in the very nature in which our government works. I call on all of us to do the same, and to expend the effort, and yes that most precious resource which each of us has on this mortal coil, the time, to make it happen. Together we can make it happen; alone and apathetic,  and we will surely slowly fade away. 

Let us begin anew. Let us do the best we can. Let us of those honored to have secured an office in Atlasia, whatever office that might be, to honor that office, and the confidence reposed in us, so that as we, when looking back, can say, with honesty, we did our best with the trust reposed in us, we made a difference, and it was good.

Welcome into our wonderful organization known as the Atlasian Senate. It is always to see some new life in the Senate and hopefully your entrance will give the Senate the kick up the arse it needs.
