Curent estimates of in general society range from 24-48-28 to 19-40-41. Clearly, there are more conservatives than liberals, but that has always been the case, even in the hayday of progressive politics in the 30s, 50s, 60s and 70s. Exit polls of the last three or four elections range from 19-23 L, 44-50 M, and 28-33 C.

As a juxtaposition of this forum to the real world (as of the time of this post, using mid points for real world)

this isn't terribly surprising, as the Atlas consists mainly of a predominately liberal demographic: youngish, college-educated males, which is probably the demographic that uses the internet most.

Anywho, I guess I'm Liberal. Probably that simple.

Anyways, I doubt this is because of stigma. For example, these numbers have been fairly constant since the 60s, the only exception being a boom of conservatives in the 90s and early 2000s, but that has stopped and begining to reverse itself.
