And how is "no" and "as a concept" different?  I'd love to hear a philosophical argument for God not existing as a concept, with this topic still being here...sounds trippy Tongue

Yes. At least, it's the only way I can reconcile the existence of anything whatsoever, so I'm quite content to believe at least that much.

Unlikely, but some things are ultimately unknowable, and that goes for matters other than this one as well. One aspect of maturity I think is to accept that fundamental truth. So I can't vote per the choices presented.

I don't know... probably not.

But if he/she/it/they exist(s), there's a strong chance that he/she/it/they doesn't/don't resemble anything in current religions.

(And as for the pronoun... "it" would probably the most correct one, followed by "they". Logically, there's no reason why divine beings should have a gender).

Some sort of divine entity may exist but it's not the "God" that exists in the books on our planet.

Yes, there is really no reason to explain, either you think so or you don't, no one has even a sliver of solid proof one way or another, so arguing is pointless

This is something I’ve really, really struggled with. I want to believe, but I hear about all those people who never even have  a chance before life kills them, and I’ve really had trouble wrapping my brain around the existence of a benevolent God because of this. Recently however, I’ve come to the conclusion that God may be benevolent but he or she chooses not to involve herself too much in our world, for whatever reason. I believe God steps in from time to time, but mainly it just sits back and observes us.

The bigger question I have is if there is a God, what is it, exactly? I have not ruled out a whole race of Gods. Perhaps they are what we consider aliens, and they created us through scientific experiments. They could exist in a different dimension, thus being capable of doing things we would consider “godly” without actually being all that powerful in their own dimension.  I’ve always put a lot of stock in this theory, I’ve never really believed that there only had to be one “God.”

A bit off topic, but I have felt God’s presence in my life. I remember praying and feeling this warm oil and intense feeling of peace pour over me. It was great. Unfortunately, The only time I felt this was when I was listening to the 700 club, which freaked me out a bit, since I’m not sure I could believe in the same God as Pat Robertson. But oh well, something for me to ponder for another time.

We should be operating under the assumption that "God" does exist and searching for scientific evidence to validate that claim, since all "this" had to come from somewhere or something. I suspect the clues lie with the origins of the Big Bang so that might be a good place to start.

I don't understand this.  If there's no solid proof either way, you believe whatever you prefer to believe?  That explains your electoral predictions Tongue

We should be operating under the assumption that "God" does exist and searching for scientific evidence to validate that claim, since all "this" had to come from somewhere or something.

If God could spontaneously exist, there's logically nothing stopping anything else from doing so too--sentient, non-sentient, even the Big Bang itself.  It seems like a bit of a logical step to assume that if something was uncreated, that uncreated something must be God.  That's especially true if you assume the existence of a certain type of God, which is a further logical leap.  (And, beyond that, there's religious dogma, at which point we're getting into the realm of the absurd.)
