So because he has an addiction problem you see fit to imply that he supports shady practices by the Tobacco majors. Glad I actually browsed to the link and saw it had nothing to do with the topic.

this is a blemish on him, but certainly not enough that anyone should change their vote.

Look, I'm just having some fun with this, but answer this question:  What would happen, if tomorrow, "Big Tobacco" was completely shut down in the USA....no cigarette taxes could be collected?  How badly would the Federal Government suffer?  How about the states?

"Big Tobacco" is BIG money for the coffers.....

Can we really get over this intrusion into the private lives of politicians already?

it is terribly difficult to quit - especially for someone under as much pressure and stress as is Obama.  he probably he will become a regular again once elected.  not that anyone should care.

As an ex-smoker, I can testify to that.  I've heard that nicotine is as addictive (or more) as heroin.  I've been smoke free for nine months now, but I can't say that I haven't had the impulse to smoke.  Cut the guy some slack--he only smokes on occasion now, and has battled the habit for years and years.  Nicotine is a very powerful, and legal, drug.

As a smoker myself, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that finds quitting a bitch.

I am sure as election day approaches, Fox will show video of Obama smoking crack.

No, JS, it was Mark Penn who suggested Obama does cocaine and possibly dealt it.

This is an outrage! Why is it that nobody supports small tobacco? I need a president who will look out for the little guy!

Oh, I know.  Which is why Penn is on my sh*tlist.  :-)  But that doesn't mean Fox won't do what it usually does to Democrats.

Yes, FuxNews and Right-wing talk radio are really desparate now that Hillary is gonzo.

"...Even as we smoke, there are those who are preparing to banish us, the spin masters and negative ad peddlers who embrace the politics of anything goes. Well, I say to them tonight, there's not big tobacco and little tobacco — there's the united tobacco industry. There's not a non-filtered industry and a filtered industry and a menthol industry and a wides industry; there's the united tobacco industry. The pundits like to slice-and-dice our habit into Big Tobacco and Little Tobacco; Big Tobacco for Turkish Blend, Little Tobacco for Virginian Leaf. But I've got news for them, too. We smoke rollies in the Little Tobacco States, and we don't like federal agents poking around our bars in the Big Tobacco States. We coach smokerings in the Big Tobacco States and are down with chewing tobacco in the Little Tobacco States. There are smokers who opposed the advertising bans and smokers who supported them. We are all smokers, all of us exhaling, all of us addicted and a part of the united to0bacco industry in America..."

This is not even a blemish, this means nothing.

The demonization of the American smoker over the last two decades has been incredible.
