Heya Sam! The opportunity to bash Martin Heinrich was too much to resist. Cheesy

Shocked

The last non-JCP candidate to hold office in the Pacific!

[That's what I think of.]

Isn't it fitting that Heather Wilson's career once again depends on a few remaining precincts?

It's so cruel.

Why exactly is Terbolizard doing so well in Sierra County?

I think he's from Nevada County ("the mountains"), so I wonder if he just has connections up there?  Not like there are a lot of voters there.

Hey, it's not my fault the Dems never nominate a Blue Dog Hispanic female here...that combination would probably have won this year...

Hmm... What about Patsy Madrid? If only she hadn't stuttered in that debate, she would've been running for reelection this time.

I didn't know Madrid was a blue dog Hispanic.  I thought she was just incompetent.

So, a competent Hispanic would have won last time around.  Tongue

Well, she could've pretended that she was Blue Dog. It would've been quite simply actually. Madrid in a TV ad: Here's my plan to increase gun ownership, cut the federal deficit, and enforce tougher border protection, and I'll pay for it by suing abortion doctors!

For selfish reasons, I'm hoping Pearce wins with 51.4% of the vote.

It would be par for the course...

For both selfish and noble reasons I'm hoping Wilson pulls it out. I like her the best out of the three Representatives running for this job, and I think she'd be the best Senator.

A bit too liberal and a lot too machine. Smiley The Treasurer scandals would've hurt her. Richard Romero was closer ideologically, but was crippled by Dem infighting. The NM Dem machine can master every race...except NM-1, for some reason.

I didn't know Madrid was a blue dog Hispanic.  I thought she was just incompetent.

She wasn't. Wink Actually, a more moderate and talented candidate might have tipped those last thousand votes...

Her donors would've been upset. Tongue

But he's only doing well in Sierra. Oh well. I guess it'll remain a mystery.

So are we actually going to get results tonight, or will I be pressing Refresh until noon tomorrow waiting for the last precincts to trickle in?

Heather Wilson would have to win around 65% of the remaining vote to defeat Pearce. Since only 13 precincts in NM-01 remain, Pearce's margin is nearly insurmountable. It's time to close the curtains on Wilson's career.

I'll rant when it's all over. Although being given the choice of a Progressive Caucus Democrat and a Club-For-Growth Republican rather pisses me off...

Edit: And the results are wonky:

SOS, says BernCo has 425/425 precincts and all early/absentee votes in:
Wilson 24378
Pearce 11921

BernCo Clerks says 416/423 precincts and early/absentee but not hand-delivered ballots in:
Wilson 27559
Pearce 14041

So the site that says there are still precincts outstanding has MORE votes counted than the one that says they are all in. WTF?
