I think Clinton will fall below a 10% lead in SD at the end, but it will be more than a 9.5% lead, so it will round up to 10%. The "interesting" thing is whether Obama or Clinton will carry their respective states by a larger margin. That is really up in the air to me. Granted, it's a meaningless factoid.

Not sure if anybody posted it yet, but Rosebud Co (Northern Cheyenne reservation 32% pop) looks like Obama country (55-40)...

39% in, 58-40 Obama (that should fall, but I doubt this will be single-digits)

Billings is now overrepresented, and still Obama +3

Butte was only Clinton +6

Great Falls also mostly in now, Obama +4.  Obama seems narrowly favored to win Eastern Montana.

With 40% in, he's up 18% in MT.

There is no way he isn't getting a double digit victory.

From Hillary's official blog. And people compare Obama supporters to a cult?

The is clearly right, with more returns in. Silver Bow was a bust from Clinton (small margin), and Eastern Montana is not delivering any margin for Clinton, and west Montana even outside the zone of universities and government workers is in general delivering for Obama. He will get his projected exit poll percentage of about 15% or so. As I said, I didn't really have a handle on Montana!

Hey, I guess the Sioux Falls indie rock/hardcore community (my experience with the area) doesn't represent the whole city.

Random question: Why are Montana's counties shaped so weird?

Obama "lost" a couple of thousand votes in the totals somewhere along the way (it dropped from 42000 to 40000 something along the way), and so Clinton will carry SD by double digits, but it is pretty clear Obama will carry Montana by more.

Mountain ranges and rivers don't run in straight lines. Smiley

I remember meeting a small community of punkers that moved to Eugene, Oregon from Sioux Falls in the early '90s and it sounded like there was a strong underground music scene for a relatively small city. Again, not sure how representative this population was....

Nevertheless, the Montana county boundaries have lots of straight lines.  Little jagged staircases.

Of course, South Dakota is 100% in except for one county...guess which one.

Uncoincidentally it's the one I promised myself I'd stay up for.

Sioux Falls was actually basically the epicenter for a very distinct style of music for a short period of time. Like Seattle for grunge.

I don't mind waiting for Shannon co myself... but maybe it's a West coast thing? There are certain  advantages to being on the West coast in this regard, until one has to go to work the next day.

The result probably won't be very surprising. Obama will win it comfortably and turnout will suck. Tongue

It's a shame I was at work and while I could follow the election results, I missed the Lord's sermon. Anyone got a link?

It's pretty cool I found a random mini bottle of vodka just now. I should tithe to Him after watching the video as well.

I thought two days ago you were from Puerto Rico? You drinking Everclear and covering the election from a cabin in Western Montana now?

No you're confusing me with WalterMitty. I've been D-MN ever since the NC primary. This is just in honor of Montana for obvious reasons. I've been located in Minneapolis the whole time, though I recently moved (from the Como neighborhood to a hipster area close to Uptown.)
