There's no protest vote for her to gain this year. Blacks are solidly behind Obama, and there aren't angry liberals to faction off to her or Nader. Dead on arrival.

Good. Anything to make the Green Party even more irrelevant.

The Constitution Party clearly missed the memo on nominating former members of Congress from Georgia

If you read the Book of Revelations backwards with a Scottish accent, it says the panhandle of Florida was promised to Georgia by God.

Quick, someone do an alternate history where Keyes became a Congressman from Georgia.

Like this is just bizarre.  I thought the Green Party wanted to be taken seriously...

So is every current or former black member of Congress going to get nominated for president this year?  What's next?  J.C. Watts to win the nomination of the Natural Law Party?

Is that a racially motivated comment, Harry?

Tell me the last time the Green Party was considered a serious third party? When they nominated Ralph Nader back in 2000? If anything, the Green Party in the United States has, nor will it ever be taken seriously.

What would anyone have the Green Party do to be taken seriously?  If candidates such as Kucinich and Gravel are already considered fringe and out of touch with the electorate, then by default the Greens have no chance.

Cynthia McKinney is a very entertaining figure. Now she's even more likely to make national news somehow.

I don't understand why people will think she'll do any worse than any other Green candidate for President.

Well in 2004 Zell Miller, a Democrat from GA, spoke at the Republican Convention.

The CP was hoping to nominate either former Senator Bob Smith from NH or former Alabama State Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore. The only "big" name we had available was Keyes who was arrogant and wrong on a particular set of issues. From what I am reading about the LP right now, we would be feeling the same way if Keyes would have gotten our nomination.

Does anyone think McKinney and Barr will have a series of debates like Badnarik and Cobb did in 2004?

Refresh my memory, please.  Isn't Cynthia McKinney the only woman on the planet who hates men more than Hillary?

No, that'd be Geraldine Ferraro.

That you have heard of? Probably.

Anyway this was predictably dissapointing. I'm just surprised BRTD didn't take the opportunity to thrash me in his post.

lol @ the notion that Hillary hates men.

Though I've no doubt that some real 'man haters' exist, which is why having a woman on the Presidential ballot (from whatever party) is (very marginally) bad news for Obama.

I was kinda hoping that Gravel and Keyes would pull through so that on election day I'd be able to decide which of the three had shown the most signs of mental instability throughout the campaign.  I guess Cynthia now has my vote just about wrapped up.

No, McKinney got that, at least here in South Carolina that is.  When the Natural Law Party collapsed in 2000, the South Carolina Greens took it over to get ballot access without having to worry about having to file the needed 10,000 signatures.

This is actually good news for Obama.  If the superdelegates were to overrule the elected delegates and select Clinton, a fair portion of black voters might well choose to back McKinney instead.

I don't think she'd do worse.  On the contrary, my friend, I think that there is every chance of her matching the Green Party's 2004's performance of .1% of the vote.  And that would be just fine.

No, McKinney hates security guards that didn't know she was a Black Female Member of Congress and people in the Metro New Orleans area who were trying to avoid further chaos in the aftermath of Katrina. (So I'm curious how she does in New Orleans.)

Man they've fallen so far since 2000. The evil Democrats ruined the party after they whined about King Gore being robbed for years. Left a stigma.
