Who do I go through to verify if an English paper is a reliable source or not?  Is the Manchester Evening News a good one?  If it is, do you think it's a good idea to record every car and plate number that enters the city?  If it's not a good paper, just ignore it.

Not sure about them, but London already does it for the Congestion Charging Zone.

Yep, that's what the article said.  Do you think it's a good idea?  Seems ripe for abuse to me, but there are enough differences in our cultures that might make this more acceptable over there than here.

I don't like it, to be honest, but it is an effective way of doing it.

There's the potential for it, sure. It's aimed for traffic enforcement though, which is a good idea. If you've got nothing to hide...

I'll add a caveat to that:

"If you've got nothing to hide and the government aren't the GDR, you've got nothing to fear".

(A Blonde in Every Pond, congratulations. You've just invoked Godwin's Law and possibly lost the argument)

A lot of self-service gas stations already use cameras to record license plates to help catch people who drive off without paying.  This is a similar deal.  No biggie.

Still dangerous.

What if it's the People's Republic of Hungary?

What if it's the People's Republic of Hungary?

Or any equivalent.

It's only entrances and exits. Car parks have cameras in entrances and exits.
