Presumably less people died at Yorktown, so I voted that one.

Yorktown. It was an amazingly organized and high tech victory, ahead of its time. It was like there were instant communications, when they were not. And the surrender ceremony was just so splendid, with the Brits laying down their arms, and then marching smartly down the line with the Yanks ranks on either side in formation. Down on the beach, below the highlands with some graceful colonial architecture on somnolent streets, there is a biker bar, and some very hot chicks on the beach; there is something for everyone.

I would love to live somewhere between Yorktown, Jamestown and Williamsburg.  And there were significant Civil War battles in both Yorktown and Williamsburg, so my love of history from 1607 on would be well sated.

I think instead of just picking five random battles may I put forward that each round should be unified by a sort of theme.

May I suggest that part five be "The French Victories Edition".

I thought about grouping them thematically, by war, by nation, by location, by year, etc.  But then I said, "Nah -- I'm a random kinda guy.  Oh.  And I'm lazy.  Which is why I am not keeping track of any of this nonsense."

We've had so many "battle of the" threads, I just thought "battle of the battles" would be fun, in a geeky kind of way.  I just wish I'd thought of "battle of the boobies".

Kursk could arguably be the battle that decided WWII.
