It's fairly clear that Clinton and Obama have vastly different coalitions, and that Obama will take the party in a different direction than Clinton. So, to graphically show this, I made a map showing which candidate would, as the nominee, win more of the white vote in each Bush state:

I don't know if Texas would be different from the Southwest when it comes to the Hillary-Obama white vote.  Texas is doing pretty well economically and doesn't really need to think back to the great 90's.  On the other hand, it also doesn't need CHANGE as much too, so who knows.

Hispanics are possibly one of the dominant competitive demographics between Obama and Clinton, as least campaign rhetoric from both sides seems to indicate this.

The future of Democratic expansion is in the West, and Obama is just the candidate to really get it going.

It also shouldn't be at the expense of anywhere else where gains COULD be made.
