They're starting up again, 5 dead so far but that number will probably rise.

(I was actually making fun of the people that always find a way to blame Bush and the Jews.  I don't like Bush, but I don't blame him for everything and I love the Jews.  I know it's hard to understand, but not all Libertarians are the exact same.)

The terrorists have taken over half of Beruit now, burned down a TV station and has killed a dozen or so civilians.

Normally when people die in the region the left is pretty quick to place blame.  Why are they so quiet in this thread?

Nah.  The pansy left in the West only fights with words (unless they are at a peace march, ironically enough).

As a member of the left, I wholly condemn everything hezbollah is doing. I think the silence on this board has something to do with the desensitization with violence in the middle east. Also I think people do hold America and Israel to a higher standard than terrorists. Are they wrong in doing that or are we the same as terrorists?

You sure?  I'm guessing if IDF F16s had killed 100 civilians in Beirut this thread would be on page 6.

No, we should be held to a higher standard.  But it has to be a realistic standard too.

Hezbollah is an extremely horrible organization even by terrorist standards. At least hamas fights for the gaza, hezbollah fights for Iran. They are a bunch of traitors who have ruined their beautiful country. During the war last year( was that last year?) between the IDF and Hezbollah, I thought Israel acted with enough restraint. Sure bombs hit civilians but that is bound to occur. I have much more bigger problems with Israeli actions in the west bank and gaza. The biggest problems there are the radical settlers who infringe on palestinian land and are given the full protection of the IDF. The lowly palestinians who live below them be damned.
