As if cavorting with tramps cross border was not bad enough, it is now revealed about this low life former Governor

http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/03/28/spitzer-played-role-in-effort-to-discredit-bruno-report-says/?hp

New York Times Mar 28/08

"Spitzer was deeply involved in his administration's effort last year to discredit the state's top Republican politician, Joseph L. Bruno, and may have been "not truthful" when he was interviewed by investigators about the matter, according to a highly critical report released this afternoon by the Albany District Attorney, P. David Soares."

Spitzer truly qualifies for the Low Life Scum Of The Year Award.

Yep.  Supposedly "liberal" NPR has been beating this like a drum.

Did they press the issue of his abuse of power while he was still in office?

I was reading the NY Post today, as I always do for amusement, and there was a little snippet on Page Six saying that Gilda (Spitzer's wife) is rumored to have known about his prostitution habit this whole time and didn't really care about it.  Just FYI.

Also, I am now willing to place serious money that Bloomberg is running for Governor in 2010, very serious money on it.

You can run on multiple lines in NY - if he wanted the Republican line as well as the Independent line in NY (or even the Liberal line), the Republicans would gift-wrap it and send it to him.  Don't know what he would call himself, however.  Conservative line is probably impossible.

Don't forget that he's still monetarily supporting Republicans full throttle statewide in the Senate and the House, so his "independence" is a little more questionable than it otherwise might seem.

My comment has to do with recent activities in the state government, actually.

I knew about the Fusion system, but I just wasn't sure if he'd have the support of either of the two bigger parties.  I didn't know about his ongoing co-operation with the GOP though; I'd merely assumed that he cut his bonds with them when he left, given that he was never really a Republican in the first place.  Wink

Of course he will - it's the only way to actually win an election up here, FYI.

He gave $500,000 to the Senate Republicans a few months ago.

The NY Post on Sunday had a story about how Bloomberg is going to try to get term limits removed in order to run for a third term as mayor.

Prediction:  It won't happen.  He will stay in public office, though, as mentioned above.

Yes, rich people rarely care about such things - they're considered normal if you aren't trapped in the absurdity of bourgeois morality.
