Hard to vote against freedom fighter here, I think. I only learned a few months ago that she was a Socialist in her later life, despite performing The Miracle Worker in 7th grade (I played James.)

Definite FF. I admire her for making the most of what she had.


Certainly our society focuses on Helen Keller as a disabled person, but it's important to note that people with disabilities can/should also be known for their other attributes.

I find it amazing that so many people don't know about her radicalism, considering that's most of what she did with her life. Leave it to publik skools to whitewash that part out.
