Say that, in 2006, Allen is able to cruise to victory over Jim Webb, and gets the GOP nomination, selecting Governor John Hoeven of North Dakota as his running mate.  Mark Warner decides to run for President, and selects Senator Tom Carper of Delaware as his VP.  How would the election go?

Allen would get his butt kicked, no question. He might pick up most of the south and certain states like Wyoming, Idaho, etc, but that's about it.
