So they deserve it?  It's somehow worse than the PRC?  Should all protests be peaceful?

The PRC US is disgusting, they allow their own people to die of easily preventable accidents in our modern world, oppress Tibetans Iraqis, poison Americans "terrorists" with dangerous products, the list is quite extensive.

That it is.
America is worse than China in your eyes?  Please tell me your kidding.  Or this is just more hyperbole from the left or something.

If the USA is comforting itself in just being better than China, then it really needs to take a look in the mirror.

Well, as they seem to be mainly targeting Han civillians, they are at least cowards.

The Olympics have become as irrelevant as the Nobel Peace Prize and UN "peacekeeping".

Except that the other two don't generate billions of dollars, unfortunately.

Very true.  I guess I should have said that the mission of human peace, unity and the dignity of mankind that the Olympics once claimed to represent has become laughably irrelevant.
Those few people who ever claimed that about the Olympics were laughably irrelevant from day one.

America may be bad in some aspects, but you can't really say it's worse than China. At least there are some people in America's government who have some sense and want to protect our freedoms, liberties, and the same right in other countries. China is an authoritarian one-party state that uses the military on its own people and has labor camps for political protesters. No way is America worse than China.

It seems the protests are spreading out into regions inhabited with ethnic Tibetians outside Tibet itself.

White people in San Francisco protest about Tibet too.  Although the repercussions are a lot less for doing so.

If China ever democratizes, which is still quite possible, then Tibet will very likely be granted a greater degree of autonomy, if only for the reason that at that point the central government cares less about Tibet's internal governmental decisions then holding the are as a buffer to India.
