i dont think ive seen this question come up in this form--

knowing what you know NOW (in other words, with the benefit of hindsight), who would you have voted for for president.

1948: dewey
1952: eisenhower
1956: eisenhower
1960: kennedy
1964: johnson
1968: humphrey
1972: mcgovern
1976: ford
1980:  tough call, probably reagan, maybe anderson
1984:  reagan
1988: bush
1992: bush
1996: dole
2000: bush

You're just new, then.  We've gone through every freakin' election from GW to GW with Atlasians giving their ticket preference. It's on the forum-- maybe in What If.

no.  you dont understand.  ive seen the other threads.  those threads were under the assumption that if you were voting in 1968 for example, you have no knowledge of what kind of presidnet or anti-semite richard nixon really was.

im asking to look back in history with hindsight and tell me who you would have voted for (knowing what kind of presidents they turned out to be)

perhaps it has been covered.  who really cares?  i started the thread again.  lighten up.

if I knew what these presidents/candidates did but not the exact election results. Otherwise, left-wing third parties on all elections that weren't close both nationally and in my state.

No: I might have voted for Eisenhower in '56 and would have probably defaced the ballot paper in '72.
And in '88 that's more a vote for Dukakis's VP than Dukakis... '84 is more a vote against Reagan than for Mondale (again, I might have doodled on the ballot paper).
But not with hindsight.

Me too... he was socialist, but he wasn't doing it to bring down the rich... he was doing it because he generally believed that it would do good for the American people Smiley
