Ex-$cientologist? Maybe. Active $cientologist? No way.

We are talking about one of the most power-hungry and intolerant religions ever to come into existence, one whose "sacred texts" are beyond scrutiny. That is far more ominous than contentions of some religions that some doctrines (example: Papal Infallibility, sanctity of the Quran, the literal truth of the Bible) are beyond dispute.  I have voted for Catholics and Baptists, and I could vote for a Muslim or a Buddhist but have never had the opportunity.

Because I don't want to be sued into bankruptcy or into the position in which I must become a stooge of $cientology to survive, I shall say no more.

Well, I agree in principle with those of you who have said that Scientology may not be intrinsically more or less rational than other religions, and some of its basic doctrines closely resemble some basic tents of Hinduism and gnosticism.  But, when I think about the beliefs surroinding Xenu and the destruction of the gallactically imported humans at bases of volcanos 75 million years ago, I mean, I just couldn't bring myself to cast a vote for a presidential candidate who believed such things.
