As the promised follow-up to my last poll.

Please only vote "Undecided" if you are genuinely, totally undecided, without even leans.

Thanks Smiley

I'd vote for 2001-2005 McCain, but I'm not sure about 2005-2008 McCain.

I'm just not sold on McCain or Obama. I value gubernatorial experience in a Presidential candidate. The proven ability to pass a budget and run a state is  strong training for the office of the Presidency. Neither Obama nor McCain have run a business or a state. Bloviating on the Senate floor about lobbyists and then picking one as a chief adviser (Charlie Black) is a major sign of political duplicity.

Senator Obama has also given great speeches, but his rhetoric is hollow because he's done little in terms of substantiative legislation to back it up. Of course, it's not his fault that the Republicans and Democrats have each engaged in extreme  obstructionist behavior over the last four years.

Obama's messianic complex and the unquestioning devotion of his legions of fans also worries me. How will these people respond when a President Obama makes a critical error in office (think: Bay of Pigs w/ JFK)? Does he really think his army for change can disrupt the entrenched power of K Street and the political imperative not to raise taxes and fix entitlements? I just think Obama is a  misleading political figure who will eventually usher in an era of even greater political cynicism.

Since my vote is a form of personal political expression (one that has an infinitesimal chance of affecting the outcome in a huge state like Texas), I'll probably choose to write-in Chuck Schumer for President.

That'd make you an independent actually, but you support a Republican for the top office. In addition I remember you supporting a Republican for Senate in my state who lost with less than 40% of the vote and by 20 points in a crushing landslide. That would make you a pretty die-hard GOP partisan then since those are basically the only people who voted for him.
