I nominate Vijay Prabhusanjil for Shadow Prime Minister.

I worry that many of the people represented by my party would not take to kindly to the idea of having a young ethnic bussynessman as Prime Minister.

Do you have an alternative?

Mr Hordern would seem to be the most electable. I would nominate Mr Dudley but it would seem that he has not been well of late.

Though I'm not actually opposed to Mr Prabhoosangel being PM. I like him.

The ALP is not happy with the way negotiations are being conducted. To be seen to be openly haggling over positions will not go down well with the public.

The Left Bloc is currently assigning portfolios to various parties, who can assign them as they please. If the ALP has a different proposal, we would all appreciate hearing it. Are you unhappy with the Ministry of Finance?

The ALP is NOT happy with the way negotiations are being conducted. To be seen TO BE OPENLY HAGGLING OVER POSITIONS will NOT go down well with the public, or, for that matter, our membership.

We have other issues will the way things are being conducted as well, but feel it would be wrong to mention them publically.

Comrades, I have just realised that we have yet to elect a chairman. Or are we doing things via the ancient principles of carve-up and first-come-first-serve rather than democratically?

Yes. I've noticed.

As far as the Antillia Labour Party is concerned, the situation is now very serious indeed. I doubt that I will be able to prevent the Party from taking drastic action if things do not change.

There will be no further comment from me on any of this until the morning.

This is acceptable to us.

Would Dockers House be an acceptable meeting place? The DW&GLU doesn't use it anymore and their leader, Mr Mawkin, is a senior member of the ALP. It could become a permanent home for the Left bloc, if you all like.

How abut no languages?

Something simple would be nice; maybe a white field with a blue arrow pointing left. There are four points for the four parties.

Red. It must be red. Not blue.

Red with a green arrow?

I dunno; seems too much like the Right's banner.

Red is the colour of the Left.

Not the color. The layout.

I'm not concerned about the layout. But the colour matters.

Mr Khan, I don't think you quite understand. Symbolism matters in such things.

The idea would only be acceptable if we had control of social policy (ie; health, welfare, etc).

OOC:

I think (though I could be very wrong) that the problem here is that Hugh is working on this basis:

All parties, please align yourselves to the Left or Rght in this thread.

Both blocs shall have 20 gauranteed members of parliament, with the other 10 being determined proportionally by the size of each bloc-so if 60% of members are aligned to the Left bloc, they get 6/10 seats, for example.

While Andrew isn't.
