Yesterday's Results

 Wisconsin   12 (46.2%)
Connecticut   14 (53.8%)

Total Voters: 26

Wisconsin was getting absolutely destroyed early on. Connecticut had over 70%. Then Wisconsin started tearing into the percentage while the vote difference remained the same. Finally towards the end Wisconsin tried cutting into CT's lead but it was not enough. The comeback failed and Connecticut advances to Round 3. This sets up California vs Connecticut. Should be good.

Washington vs Maine. Both of these states have been at the center of the political arena this weekend. Should be an easy Washington win but who know, the Northeast has proven to have formidable strength this contest.

Crap. I was really hoping Maine would get shut out. I was going to make it my avatar. Sad

Oh well, there's always South Dakota (who is apparently up against New York).

Darn, this is hard. Voted for the underdog, but I'd wish for both of them to proceed against none of the last matchup.

Maine doesn't deserve to get clobbered like this.

But Washington's superiority outweighed my sense of justice.  Tongue

Oooh.  A very tough decision for me, but I chose Maine.  I really have no reasons why, because both states are very beautiful.  I guess Maine is closer to the big cities of the north east megalopolis (DC, Baltimore, Wilmington, Philly, NYC, Hartford, Providence, Boston), and yet is still mostly rural.  Washington does have Seattle inside and Portland nearby, but its still some distance away from other big western cities like San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Denver.

Plus, Washington is about to lose their NBA team to Oklahoma City.  I know they suck big time, but at least they are a team and they would be received extremely well in OKC.

Vancouver, British Columbia is also very close to Washington.  I voted Washington because it has more of everything (mountains, big cities, other).  But Maine has a higher share of independents, and the area encompassing Yakima and the Tri-Cities makes it much more competitive.  That is by far the worst area of the state.
