Was Schmitz's percentages polled on TV or polled anywhere?

Schmitz recieved over 1.1 million votes in 1972. I would assume so. But then again I wasn't alive yet.

NBC showed Wallace's totals in 1968, but very seldom, and he won electoral votes. I doubt that they showed Scmitz's totals.

I don't know anything about Schmitz.
I know something about his daughter, though! Smiley

John Scmitz said of Nixon's China Visit in 1972, "I had no problem with the president visiting China, I had a problem with him coming back."

From en.wikipedia.org:

"John Schmitz was generally considered one of the most conservative members of the Congress, and was noted for his use of agressive political comments. In 1965, he called the Watts riots "a communist operation". He considered Richard M. Nixon and Ronald Reagan liberals, and suggested, when Nixon first went to China, that it would be best if he not come back. In 1978, he advocated a military coup, which caused even the John Birch Society to decide that enough was enough -- they revoked his membership."

Not someone you'd want to see as President, basically.

I find it difficult to be more conservative than Reagan. This guy must have been really Right Wing. I'm a moderate Democrat, so Imagine what he would have thought of me! LOL.

Scmitz wanted to ally with China to wipe out the USSR. He had plans and everything.

I don't know whether his plans would have worked. He's just too far right for me. Like Dennis Kucinich was too far left.
